Cannabis Pesticide Testing
A commitment to consistent, accurate results.
Mandatory Pesticide Testing Required under new Health Canada Cannabis Act Regulations
Under the Cannabis Act, licenced producers are prohibited from using any additives or unregistered pest control products in the cultivation or production of fresh or dried Cannabis. There are currently 22 registered pesticide products approved for use under the PMRA (Pest Management Regulatory Agency), which contain varying combinations of soaps, salts, sulfur products and fatty acids. To date, there are hundreds of active pesticide compounds that are not approved for use on indoor cannabis crops. The use of any unauthorized pest control product will result in Health Canada actions such as product recall, the seizure or destruction of crops, and potentially the revocation of your Cannabis Act licence. All Cannabis products intended for sale or provided to any party under the Cannabis Act will require pesticide testing. Eurofins Experchem Laboratories can detect all 96 pesticide actives proposed by Health Canada, and our method has been validated.
