Cannabis Microbial Testing
Microorganisms are bacteria and yeasts and molds that are “microscopic” and not typically visible to naked eye. Cannabis plants and products are not sterile and some microbial contamination is expected however there are limits that prevent adverse human health effects. Microbial testing is a requirement under the cannabis regulations for all fresh, dried and oil based cannabis products. We have verified the appropriate compendial EP/USP methods for detection of the following;
- Total Aerobic Plate Count (TAPC)
- Total Yeasts and Molds (TYAM)
- Bile Tolerant Gram Negative Bacteria (BTGN)
- Escherichia coli
- Salmonella Spp
- Pseudomonas aeruginosa (cannabis extracted Oils)
- Staphylococcus aureus (cannabis extracted Oils)
